US Open champs to earn record $3.5 million

WHITE PLAINS, NY: This year’s US Open men’s and women’s singles champions will each earn a record $3.5 million (Rs 23.45 crore), up from $3.3 million (Rs 22.11 crore) in 2015. The US Tennis Association announced on Tuesday the total tournament purse will be $46.3 million (Rs 310.21 crore), a $4 million (Rs 26.80 crore) increase from a year ago.
