Mourinho extends Inter contract to 2012

Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2012, the club said on its Web site on Monday.

Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2012, the club said on its Web site on Monday.

Mourinho's original contact took him through to 2011, but the Inter management was keen to keep hold of him after Real Madrid expressed an interest in taking him to the Bernabeu.

Since joining Inter in June 2008 Mourinho has helped Inter win a fourth consecutive Italian title and the Italian Super Cup, but the club made a meek exit at the hands of Manchester United in the first knockout round of the Champions League.
