Los Angeles Lakers coach provides update on Anthony Davis' ankle injury after win over Minnesota Timberwolves
In the third quarter of the game, Davis suffered an ankle injury when he stepped backwards onto Lakers forward Wenyen Gabriel's foot.
Los Angeles Lakers defeated Minnesota Timberwolves by 123-111 on Friday night. Anthony Davis was the hero for Lakers as he contributed with 38 points and 17 rebounds in the match. With the win, Lakers climbed to the No.7 spot in the standings for Western Conference. With a total of 39 wins and 38 losses, their winning percentage this season also went past .500 after the tremendous victory.
In the third quarter of the game, Davis suffered an ankle injury when he stepped backwards onto Lakers forward Wenyen Gabriel's foot. But that didn't stop Davis from scoring 17 of his 38 points in the fourth quarter.

Lakers coach Darvin Ham talked about Davis' injury after the match.
“He’s good, he powered through. I think it’s just a twisted ankle,” said Darvin.
While speaking to media after the match, Davis talked about how he was able to perform in the game despite suffering the ankle injury.
"I knew I was going to play. Tied the shoes up tighter and just kind off played off adrenaline until the end of the game and was able to get some treatment. But I'll be fine," said Davis.
Wolves coach Chris Finch lauded Davis for his gameplay and persistence despite suffering the injury.
"He kicked our a** in every way possible," said Finch.
Meanwhile, Lakers star LeBron James finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in the match. By his standards, it was an underwhelming performance but fans would take note that he had just returned after his foot injury.
Lakers will square off against Houston Rockets on Sunday. Rockets seem to be an easy opponent as the team is on the bottom in the standings for Western Conference.
