Fifth seed Amelie Mauresmo of France crashed out of the French Open on Saturday losing 6-3, 7-6 (7/3) to Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic.

Safarova, the 25th seed, will go on to play Anna Chakvetadze of Russia, who defeated Japan's Ai Sugayama 6-4, 6-4, for a place in the last eight.
