Salgaocar coach quits

Karim Bencherifa’s last day as Salgaocar coach could be on November 17 when they play Mohun Bagan who, it is said, have made the Moroccan an offer he can’t refuse. HT reports.

Karim Bencherifa’s last day as Salgaocar coach could be on November 17 when they play Mohun Bagan who, it is said, have made the Moroccan an offer he can’t refuse.

Unable to hold on to Bencherifa, Salgaocar seem determined to extract their proverbial pound of flesh before letting him go possibly to Mohun Bagan. Just like they did in 1997 when Mohun Bagan poached TK Chathunni from them.

Salgaocar confirmed that Bencherifa resigned on Thursday but if he does join Mohun Bagan it won’t be immediately. Salgaocar general secretary RAJ Gomes said over the phone from New Delhi that the coach will be with the Goa giants till November 17.
