In other men's singles first round, Abhijeet Tiwari defeated veteran Vinod Sridhar 6-4 6-2 while Delhi lad Adit Jain thrashed Bihar’s Amlesh Kumar 6-1, 6-1.

Jaipur: Delhi's junior girls team won their opening tie against Assam in the Inter-State Junior Badminton Championship at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur. The girls, competing for the prestigious Shafi Qureshi Cup, will now face Air India team in the penultimate round on Tuesday.
