Sporting Clube win Under-19 title

Sporting Clube de Goa might have been relegated from the I-League but the Goan side emerged the under-19 champions beating East Bengal 4-2 via tiebreaker in the final of the tournament for I-League teams here on Monday.

Sporting Clube de Goa might have been relegated from the I-League but the Goan side emerged the under-19 champions beating East Bengal 4-2 via tiebreaker in the final of the tournament for I-League teams here on Monday.

The match was settled in the penalty shootout after a goalless stalemate prevailed in the regulation as well as additional time of 30 minutes. Last year's runners-up, Sporting, failed to capitalise on a late advantage when the hosts were reduced to 10 men in the 87th minute after referee gave marching orders to Uttam Das.
