Harkleroad is approached by magazine mogul Hugh Hefner to pose nude for his publication Playboy, which the tennis beauty has agreed to, according to reports published in the British media on Tuesday.
"I thought, 'well I'm not really doing anything', so I considered it and it was something that I wanted to do. I am proud of my body. I was representing a female athlete's body," she was quoted as saying.
The American player, ranked No 61 on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, will appear in the magazine's August issue.
Harkleroad has been the front-page news before, but that was for her wedding to Alex Bogomolov Jr, her fellow pro, at the age of 19, in a marriage that lasted a little less than two years.
