Herbst, driving the No, 35 Monster Energy Toyota, crashed against the sidewall violently. The broadcast showed him coming out of the car at the Talladega, Alabama. But he appears to have suffered an injury to his wrist.

Photos after the race showed him with a cast on his wrist even as he told reporters: “I'm OK.”

Herbst was taken to the care center with injuries where he underwent treatment. NASCAR reporter Noah Lewis noted that Riley Herbst was able to walk to the golf car after being cleared from the care center. He did not speak to the media. It is unclear what happened to him in the crash.

Here's the video of Herbst car striking the sidewall twice - from one end to the other - before it landed on the raceway severely damaged. Medical staff soon went after Herbst as he managed to walk out of the car and went to the care center.

Joey Logano's multi-car crash led to Herbst hitting sidewall

Riley Herbst was not the only one to suffer a bad crash at the YellaWood500. Joey Logano's No. 22 Ford Mustang Dark Horse also flipped upside down with just five laps left in the race. The medical crew was attending to Logano's crash and took a few minutes to reach Herbst.

The multi-car crash as Locgano was battling for the pole position in Sunday's race. Herbst car was also one of the cars involved in the crash involving Logan's Ford.

NASCAR reporters noted the Herbst car first hit the sidewall after the multi-car crash involving Logan. It then turned right and hit the sidewall due to what experts suggested was a brake failure.

Joey Logano was also able to safely walk out of the car and no major injury to the 36-year-old driver is being reported at the moment.

“I just got a push in the wrong spot there,” Logano said after the race. “It was very much a ‘Talladega Nights,’ Oh no, I’m upside down, this is not good’ moment. I can’t thank the safety crew enough. They did an amazing job flipping that thing over.

"The last time I flipped it was crushed on my head. This time, I don’t think any of the roll cage crushed at all, so I appreciate what NASCAR’s done. Thank you and the safety team for getting me out of there. There was some vicious hits in this one. Just happy to be alive.”

Kyle Larson picks first NASCAR Cup Series victory at Talladega

Kyle Larson finished at the pole position at the YellaWood 500, recording his first NASCAR Cup Series victory. He managed to cross the checkered flag just a few yards ahead of his Hendrick Motorsports teammate William Byron. The third-place finish was secured by Ricky Stenhouse Jr. who finished 0.066 seconds behind.
