Why was Memphis Grizzlies' Brandon Clarke arrested in Arkansas? Full list of charges
Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke was arrested in Arkansas on April 1 and faces multiple charges.
Brandon Clarke, forward of the Memphis Grizzlies, was arrested and booked in Arkansas on Wednesday. According to the Memphis Commercial Appeal's report Clarke was taken into custody on the afternoon of April 1.

As per the reporters Lucas Finton and Damichael Cole, Clarke faces multiple charges, including trafficking and possession of a controlled substance, fleeing in a vehicle while exceeding the speed limit, and improper passing.
Charges and CID hold
County records initially did not clearly specify the charges and listed Clarke under a “CID hold,” a term that can vary across law enforcement agencies. The designation typically indicates involvement of the Criminal Investigation Division.
The Cross County Sheriff’s Office, which is handling the case, declined to provide further details. “At this time, there is no additional information that can be released,” Chief Deputy Larry Jones said in a statement.
Team responds as investigation continues
Speaking ahead of Memphis' game against the New York Knicks, head coach Tuomas Iisalo said he was aware of the situation but declined to comment.
Finton also noted that the charges remain allegations. “These are still just allegations. A lot can happen between now and the resolution of the case,” he wrote on social media, adding that Clarke is presumed innocent unless proven guilty or he enters a plea. "Clarke is innocent of all charges unless found guilty, or he enters a plea. Prison is rarely guaranteed in a criminal case" he added
Injury setbacks the eventful career
Clarke has played only two games in this season of NBA due to injuries, including a knee issue that required surgery last season and a right calf strain this year. The 29-year-old was the No. 21 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and is among the longest-tenured players on the Grizzlies roster. In seven seasons, Clarke has averaged 10.2 points and 5.5 rebounds over 309 career games.
