We were better, says Saintfiet

The Belgian said, “I am very disappointed because we just could not finish. I will look through the DVD of the match and analyse what needs to be changed. India looked physically strong.”

Indian coach Bob Houghton was all praises for his team. “We've improved over the last three games, especially the two at home but they have all been even. The passing has improved but the defence was a bit worrying. I'd like to combine the two, the defending from the Thailand game with the attacking from this one," he explained.

Houghton also congratulated goalkeeper Subrata Pal and forward Abhishek Yadav. “He's very steady and it's great to have him at the back. Yadav had a great game.”

India slumped to 160 in the FIFA rankings on Wednesday but Houghton had this to say, “I don't think about the rankings too much. We just beat a side ranked 45 places above us. What do the rankings tell you?”

Result: India 2 (Wadoo, Perreira) beat Namibia 0
