Wozniacki overcomes slow start for Hopman Cup win

Top-ranked Wozniacki, who trailed 3-0 and 5-1 in the opening set, arrived in Western Australia earlier Monday from Thailand and was given extra practice time on the Burswood Dome hardcourts.

After tournament officials changed the order of the singles matches, Mardy Fish gave the United States a 1-0 lead, beating Frederik Neilsen 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4.

In another Group A match Monday, Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova and Tomas Berdych won singles matches to give Czech Republic a 2-1 victory over Bulgaria.
