Instagram down? Users say DMs not working
According to Downdetector, Wednesday's outage began at 1:20 am EST or 11:50 am in India.
Instagram reportedly went down on Wednesday, with users from India and across the world complaining they were not being able to send direct messages (DMs) on the photo and video sharing service.

Others, however, said the issue was only with DMs and the rest of the app was working fine.
According to Downdetector, a platform that provides users with real-time information about the status of websites and services, Instagram began experiencing issues at 1:20 am Eastern Standard Time (EST) or 11:50 am in India.
Meta-owned Instagram is yet to acknowledge the outage or issue a statement on the matter. Also, it is known whether the service is back for those who experienced the outage.

As always, Twitter was flooded with memes on the situation. Users joked about people rushing to Twitter to check if Instagram was indeed down.
“Instagram dm down .. Can anyone dm me on twitter!” said another.
“So the DMs don't work but the rest of instagram does work perfectly?Anyway, what's up twitter?” tweeted another.
