WhatsApp to enable saving ‘disappearing messages' when they are gone: Report

It is known that a ‘Disappearing Message’ option means the messages will vanish after a set period of time. These messages can't be marked as starred as well.

WhatsApp, the popular messaging platform is working on a new feature which will save the ‘disappeared messages’ even after they have expired. WhatsApp will soon introduce the section named ‘Kept messages’, Hindustan Times sister publication Live Hindustan reported.

It is known that a ‘Disappearing Message’ option means the messages will vanish after a set period of time. These messages can't be marked as starred as well.

With the new feature, these messages will be marked ‘Kept' and can be read later on. According to report, the feature is being developed. Besides this, WhatsApp will also allow the group admin to limit this future.

Besides this, WhatsApp will soon roll out a feature to enable Android users to hide their online status. This will really useful for those people who don't want to reveal their availability to all or select users. The feature however, is not available for beta testers as of now.

According to the report, the feature to enable Apple iOS users to hide their online status was in the testing phase last month. Earlier this week, WhatsApp made an official announcement about a new feature to help all its users transfer their entire chat history from Android to iOS and vice versa.
