Minor’s body recovered from almirah, accused held

The accused told the police he was aware that the girl’s father had sold a property recently and believed the cash was lying in the house. The accused entered the house and took out ₹20,000 but was seen by the victim girl. Afraid of being identified, he strangled the girl with a rope, wrapped the body in a quilt and placed it in his almirah.

Several injured in Aligarh group clash

Sources revealed that about six people were feared injured. A motor cycle rally to mark the birth anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar was taken out without prior permission and members of another caste objected to it. As the argument escalated, both parties started hurling brickbats at one another, injuring several people, they added.

Free entry at centrally protected monuments in Agra today

To celebrate World Heritage Day, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will open an interpretation centre dedicated to Mughal Emperor Akbar at Sikandra, also known as Akbar’s Tomb in Agra.

In view of World Heritage Day, all the centrally protected monuments in Agra, including the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, will allow free entry to visitors on Tuesday. (HT File)
