The court noted that it had taken around three days to remove the SpiceJet aircraft as the only Disabled Aircraft Retrieval Kit (DARK) required for the operation was in Mangaluru to clear an Air India Express plane, which had also overshot the runway.

India late on Tuesday night grounded Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft in light of Ethiopian Airlines crash that killed all 157 people on board on Sunday, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said.

Government reviewing IndiGo, SpiceJet web check-in fee for seats after complaints

IndiGo was responding to passengers who had questioned the low-cost airline’s move to levy a fee on web check-ins. In a series of responses to several tweets, IndiGo said that the seat fee policy had been revised effective November 14.

Authentication kiosks for Digi Yatra at city centres proposed

A passenger who has created the Digi Yatra ID has to undergo a one-time facial verification at the departure airport during his/her first travel. On successful verification, facial biometric will be captured and stored in the Digi Yatra ID profile of the passenger.

The Digiyatra platform will help passengers to plan their trips efficiently by identifying price trends and estimate future airfares at the time of booking. Passengers will have the option to link their Aadhaar to airlines at the time of booking for faster airport entry and automated check-ins.
