Four convicts of the brutal Delhi gang rape and murder case — one that brought young people across the nation out on the streets in protest and ensured the overhaul of laws governing crimes against women — were hanged to death on Friday at 5.30 am inside Tihar’s jail number 3.
The bus’ cleaners Mukesh Singh and Akshay Thakur, fruit-seller Pawan Gupta and gym instructor Vinay Sharma were hanged simultaneously inside Tihar Jail number 3.

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday dismissed Singh’s plea that challenged a trial court order which rejected his claim he was not in the national capital when the crime was committed.
