Congress launches mega Dalit connect programme
The Congress party in Uttar Pradesh has launched the Dalit Gaurav Samvad (dialogue) programme to connect with the downtrodden classes. They aim to connect with 1 lakh Dalit influencers and gather 2 lakh Dalit Adhikar Maang Patras (demand lists) to demand a caste census for the distribution of government jobs. This is the party's first major attempt to win back its traditional vote banks ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
