Colleges, varsities in Odisha to reopen for final year students on Jan 11

The penultimate semester exams for the students of UG/PG courses will be held from March 16 to March 31 and the final semester examinations will take place between June 16 and June 30, a notification issued by the Higher Education department said.

A bench of Justices D Y Chandrachud, Indu Malhotra and Indira Banerjee has admitted an appeal filed by Manu Solanki and other students of a medical course against Vinayaka Mission University at Salem in Tamil Nadu, alleging deficiency in services.

UGC asks varsities to open page to report caste bias on campus

The universities may constitute panels to look into discrimination complaints received from the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) or Other Backward Class students, teachers and non-teaching staff, the regulator has said in a circular issued on Wednesday. It has also sought a report on the action taken in all such cases within 30 days.
