After asking female globetrotters how hotels can anticipate their needs in research carried out over 18 months, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts introduced a new service they call Hyatt Has It which will offer guests – particularly their female ones – amenities such as a phone charger, curling iron, steamer, yoga mat, makeup remover wipes, and razors that they can either borrow or purchase.

In response to their female respondents’ desire to eat healthily while traveling and on the road, the hotel chain has also launched new menu items that include fresh juices, smoothies, more balanced portions, and customizable meal options.

Women also indicated a preference for high-quality toiletries which has prompted Hyatt to upgrade their bath amenities to brand names like KenetMD Skin Care, Le Labo, June Jacobs and Aromapothecary.

Meanwhile, a hotel in Copenhagen snagged headlines around the world when it announced that it would be reserving a floor exclusively for women-only. The Bella SkyComwell Hotel is currently engaged in a legal battle after it was deemed that banning men to the floor illegal and discriminatory and says it will defend the concept.

The Portal Hotel in Brisbane stakes claims to having created the first women-only floor in Australia.
