After reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi lost out on the cricket biggies promised by former IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi, TV channel Colors faces another similar casualty — its show IPL Rockstar.

Part of the Rs 100 crore IPL entertainment package Modi had reportedly signed with the channel, this music reality show has now been canned. The show was shot inside cricket stadiums with singers Kailash Kher, Sukhwinder Singh and Hard Kaur during IPL 3.

The spokesperson for the channel said the fate of the show was still “undecided”, following the confusion over “contractual commitments”.

“We have stopped expecting BCCI to endorse our projects planned around cricket. So right now, we’ve shifted our focus to big-ticket shows like India’s Got Talent 2 and Bigg Boss Season Four,” the spokesperson added.

The IPL entertainment package was also slated to include ‘After Party’ coverage, IPL Awards, IPL Rockstar and Khatron Ke Khiladi IPL Special. Following objections from BCCI as well as MS Dhoni, the parties, too, shall not return in Season 4.
