Armaan Kohli may have been targeted for publicity: Arshad Warsi

Bigg Boss contestant Armaan Kohli was arrested on Monday night and released on bail on charges of sexual assault against Sofia Hayat.
Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi feels that Sofia is not right in targeting Armaan, insisting it is nothing but a publicity stunt. The actor tweeted on Tuesday, "A harassed Indian girl on a train gets shunned but a British Asian wannabe actor cum singer's complaint get (sic) registered immediately. When are we going to learn that white does not mean right. There is a difference between Pain & publicity."
The tweet, obviously, attracted flak from fans and people across the internet. Arshad then wrote, "I am not supporting Arman at all, i just know Sophia has come to India to become an actress & to make it big." (sic)
Ex-Bigg Boss contestant Rajev Paul told Hindustantimes.com, "If Armaan has hurt Sofia, or outraged her modesty, he should certainly be punished. But from the look of it, I feel, Sofia is using the platform of Bigg Boss to gain publicity."
He also felt Sofia has taken the issue way too far than was needed. "Is hisaab se to har season ke baad har contestant ek doosre pe case karega (If this is the order of the day, after every season contestants would file cases against each other)," Rajev added.
In a response to a query from Hindustantimes.com, TV actor and anchor Gaurav Chopra said, "If he (Armaan) has misbehaved or been violent with a woman, the arrest would seem appropriate. Of course, the punishment should depend on the gravity of the mistake."
