Voluntarily getting out of the Bigg Boss house for a mere Rs 10 lakh, Bakhtiyaar Irani is all philosophical

You could have won 90 lakh more in a week.
I understand that, but who will take the guarantee for that. I didn’t want to stand on the stage and clap for someone who didn’t deserve to win. It was a decision for my own good.

What would you have done if the same proposition had come your way on ‘Day one?’
‘Day one’ is a different story and four days before it ends is something else. It’s a different situation now. Money is a zero factor here.

How difficult or easy was it to put your private life for ‘public viewing’ on national TV?
It was a difficult step. But I took it knowingly. It didn’t come to me as a bouncer. It was my own will, but the way I put it across like shouting at my wife was not needed. A sorry is not worth a crore. I know one leading contender had to win. And in 40 minutes I decided to end it, unlike others. I had the b***s to be fair to myself.

Would you do it again for that kind of money?
Yes why not. If a person is wrong, he has to understand his mistakes. Life is a challenge. Get me Sach Ka Samna. I have set a target that the next time I’m doing a reality show, I’m f*****g winning it. I will be the husband that people desire for.

How about spending three months in a jail for a crore?
I love challenges, especially if they are with stupid and erratic people. The emotions that one goes through that phase are worth a try. If I can spend 12 weeks in a roller coaster ride like this, then why not a jail. Bring it on.

Are you living in a strained marriage with Tanaaz?
If it’s a visual then people see how cute you are. I fought all the time. Our attitudes were different. Tanaaz believed in ‘Live and let live?’ I like to punish people for their wrong doings. But people in the house still gave me the immunity. Tanaaz and I need to work on our relationship. More so from my side. My wife’s elegant, handles my son as well as the house perfectly. There’s no fault in her.

I’m sure your on-air arguments and differences with Tanaaz were preplanned for the sake of footage?
I felt I had a bright chance of winning. Why would I plan on just winning Rs 10 lakh? I won’t do it for cheap TRPs. How can people be so downtrodden to even think of it? It was about a frustrated husband who saw his wife being abused. She was the only person to get feedback, not me. If you have a problem, then screw you.

How would you react, had Vindu Dara Singh thrashed you, as he said in the show?
My initial reaction was wrong. I wanted to know what the f**k it was all about. Today you can’t have an intelligent conversation with these people, but I can.

Who will eventually win?
I don’t care. I was the right choice. But I wanted to be fair to my wife. The right players to win were Tanaaz, Shamita and Aditi.
