Teaming up with Ranbir Kapoor, Imran Khan had sparked off a controversy when he appeared on Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan last year over comments on Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor. But the actor is ready for another round of coffee in the chat show’s fourth season.

"I hope there won’t be so much drama this time," he says. "Even last time, it was the girls who created all the drama. Our episode was nothing, we were just being chirpy, but we got all the backlash."

Would he prefer returning with his wife?

“Avantika doesn’t like being in the public eye, so I’m not sure if she can be persuaded. But I’d be happy to go back,” says Imran, who’s just shot a Koffee-like capsule with Karan and Kareena Kapoor to promote their upcoming film, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu.

“This being Shakun Batra’s directorial debut, he was always polite. And since I admire Kareena so much, I was afraid to pull her leg on the sets. So, it was fun to watch Karan, who knows her well, ragging her on camera.”

Ranbir has since signed Ayan Mukerji’s next, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, with Deepika, even though father Rishi Kapoor had said that he’d never work again with her or Sonam after the Koffee… show.

Imran, on the other hand, is yet to reunite with his Break Ke Baad (2010) and I Hate Luv Storys (2010) co-stars?

He says, “There have been some offers over the last two years, but they didn’t materialise. As soon as something interesting comes along, you’ll see us pair up again.”
