It’s the show’s fourth Navratri special in the last two years.

Mata Ki Chowki

on Sahara One is currently the only and the longest running mythological daily on a Hindi general entertainment channel. This year, as part of the Durga Pooja specials, Dhriti Bhatia, who played little Lord Krishna in Jai Shri Krishna on Colors two years ago, returns as an avatar of Maa Durga.

Producer Vikas Seth insists that no one could have played the part better. “She’s just four years old. After signing her on, I discovered how professional she is at this age. I’ve been getting lots of phone calls and messages from people from the time we featured her on the promos of the show. I think she’s really popular with the viewers,” he adds.

Has he seen Jai Shri Krishna in which Bhatia played the young Lord Krishna? “Of course,” says Seth. “I recall the girl very well. She was impressive and I didn’t know till I met her that when she shot for the show, she was all of two and a half.”

Bhatia plays the lead protagonist Sakshi’s protector Durga who enters her home to guard her against all evils. “Sakshi is currently pregnant in the show. The daytyas have planted an evil soul in her womb. So Durga will be helping Sakshi get rid of it and fight the wrong-doers,” says Seth, adding that Bhatia will not be exiting the show anytime soon. “Her track has developed very well. It’s getting popular by the day. So, we’d like to continue with her for some time.”
