“I don’t think I can take up any more rona-dhona roles. I am done with them for a while, at least. In fact, I’m looking for something more practical. People should be able to relate to the role and that’s possible only if the show is more contemporary,” says Rashami.
The actor, who has just finished a stint on a dance reality show, says that she feels proud to be in the profession. “I feel that as actors, we do a lot of good work. It is not an easy job to portray someone who you are not in real life. We come from such a different world than what is shown on-screen, it’s tough,” she says, adding, “You have to be responsible enough while playing a character — you must be careful about not passing on the wrong message. But I feel that an actor’s job is beautiful.”
Apart from making a name for herself on the small screen, Rashami is also keen to act in a film. “I am looking for scripts in Bollywood too. I want to take up something challenging, and not do a film just for the sake of doing it,” she says.
