“I have been single for a really long time (laughs),” says the Kundali Bhagya actor Shraddha Arya who is currently a busy girl with a hit TV show to her credit. Talking about her personal life, she says, “I keep asking myself ‘am I looking for love?’ because whenever I meet someone I jell well with, I don’t want to meet that person again. So, something is wrong there. Maybe, I am afraid to get into a relationship and be in a vulnerable space. Perhaps, it’s possible that I am really happy and involved in my work. My focus is on my career right now and all this attention towards it is also giving me results as my show is doing very well. My work and I are in a very healthy relationship right now (laughs). I don’t want to disturb it with any emotional distraction at the moment. I am happy and content being single. Someone has to sweep me off my feet maybe for me to change my mind now.”

The actor got engaged to an NRI in 2015 but she called it off over a year ago. Shraddha says she isn’t sore about it anymore. She says, “Sometimes things don’t work out the way you plan. There was no one to blame [in that situation]. Of course, you feel you have a connect with someone but when you begin to know them better, you find out that maybe things won’t work in the long term. And then, you take a step back and decide not to go ahead with the relationship. Such a decision helps both parties. I don’t regret the decision (to not marry). Whatever happened, happened for both our well-being.”

On her work front, Shraddha, who has starred in shows such as Tumhari Paakhi and Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki earlier, is glad to be starring in a successful TV show. She says, “We rated number one on the ratings within weeks of airing and that was quite a morale booster. We have a talented bunch of actors on the show which helps everyone give our best. We have a very competitive environment on the set (laughs). This is the biggest show of my career in terms of ratings. When I got the show, I didn’t think it was going to be very different and that it would make a mark right away. But it was produced by Ekta Kapoor and after the first three episodes aired, I knew it would turn out to be a winner.”
