Palak was expected to enter Bollywood opposite Taare Zameen Par’s Darsheel Safary in his first film as an adult, Quickie, but her parents thought she should complete her education first. “For the past few months I was constantly bombarded with questions regarding Quickie, and Palak’s debut. We really wanted quickie to be the way to go but the process was too protracted and Palak’s 12th grade has now begun. Therefore we decided it would be best if we retracted ourselves from the project since Palak’s education is of paramount importance at this point in time,” she said.

“We wish Oddball the very best, but sadly we had to come to this decision. However i assure you, Palak’s debut is soon enough (sic),” she added.

Palak (17) was recently targeted by trolls for her Instagram selfies. She was accused of getting lip fillers in a comment on her latest selfie and she retorted with a big clapback.“Botox lips,” the commentor wrote, seeing her lips looking plumper than usual in a selfie posted last week. Palak wrote a long reply denying the troll’s allegations and saying she doesn’t care about anyone’s opinion of her. “I’m only 17, and not somebody who’s a supporter of changing myself based on what the world May or May not like. So no Ma’am, that’s a false accusation, and it’s because of such accusations that going under the knife is considered a trend, and is ultimately promoted . I’m not for it ma’am. Sorry to disappoint you, have good night and best wishes,” she wrote in a comment.

Shweta is known for her work in Star Plus’ hit soap opera, Kasautii Zindagi Kay. Palak is her daughter from her first marriage to Raja Choudhary. She also has a 2-year-old son with her husband Abhinav Kohli.
