DMK supremo and Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin called the Modi minister’s statement “reckless”. Facing backlash, Karandlaje sought “forgiveness'' of Tamilians. DMK, however, found her apology “half-hearted” and complained to the Election Commission, demanding “stringent action” against Karandlaje for her “hate speech”.
