China calls out U.S after destroyer Ralph Johnson passes through Taiwan Strait

The Chinese military has now called out the United States 3 days after U.S destroyer Ralph Johnson transited in the Taiwan Strait. The Chinese Military called it a provocative act that sent wrong signals to pro-Taiwan independence forces. On March 17, a day before Chinese and U.S Presidents video call, China sailed its aircraft carrier Shandong through the sensitive Taiwan Strait, shadowed by the U.S destroyer. China claims democratically ruled Taiwan as its own territory, and has over the past two years stepped up its military activity near the island to assert its sovereignty claims, alarming Taipei and Washington.
