China on Wednesday criticised countries expressing concern over its recent military drills near Taiwan, accusing them of hypocrisy and ignoring what Beijing calls external interference in its internal affairs. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said some governments had turned a “deaf ear” to Taiwan independence forces while distorting facts about China’s actions to safeguard sovereignty and territorial integrity. He urged Japan, Australia, EU institutions and others to strictly abide by the one-China principle and stop interfering. The remarks followed China’s two-day “Justice Mission 2025” drills, which included its most extensive simulated blockade of Taiwan to date.
