Watch | Pollution levels 42 times worse after Diwali
Pollution levels in Delhi a day after Diwali are so high the government would declare a red alert if this were China. Hindustan Times Air Quality Index (AQI) showed AQI today morning peaked to 500. AQI between 400 and 500 is classified as severe. Three consecutive days with such pollution levels and China would shut down schools and offices. Delhi’s pollution regulator says on Diwali night air quality was up to 42 times worse in some areas. Time to take out your air pollution masks. Or, just stay indoors.
