Captain Rahane stars as India beat Australia to level series; Kohli responds

India scripted a famous victory in the Melbourne test to level the series 1-1. Captain Ajinkya Rahane, who is filling in for Virat Kohli, led from the front to take the team to a 8 wicket victory. Rahane scored his 12th test century to put India in front. The Indian bowlers dominated proceedings for most part of the test restricting the hosts to scores of 195 and 200 in their two innings. The seam bowlers led by Jasprit Bumrah and the spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin & Ravindra Jadeja spun a web around the Australian batting line up. India had to chase 70 runs in their second innings to win the 2nd test. Debutants Shubman Gill and Mohammad Siraj also impressed with their performances in the match. This victory comes after a batting collapse led to India scoring their lowest ever total in the first test at Adelaide.
