Five couples are trying their electoral luck in Goa Assembly polls, aiming for 25% of the coastal state’s 40 seats. Michael Lobo, a former minister in the Pramod Sawant-led BJP government in Goa started raising the pitch for his wife. By January 2022, the talks with BJP fell apart and both husband-wife joined Congress. The Monserrates are incumbent MLAs from Tisvadi Taluka’s Panaji And Taleigao. Trinamool Congress, the new entrant to Goan politics, has also fielded a couple. Goa’s Deputy CM Chandrakant Kavlekar yet again bagged a ticket from BJP on his traditional Quepem seat but his wife Savitri will contest as an independent. Watch the full video for more.
