Lionel Messi needs World Cup win to match Maradona: Rivaldo
Brazil football legend Rivaldo has said the FIFA World Cup 2018 could be the last for Lionel Messi and it will be disappointing if Argentina do not win the tournament this time. “I guess this is the last World Cup for Lionel Messi. The only reason it wouldn't be is if Argentina don't have enough players for the future. So Messi would end up playing at the next World Cup being 35 or 36-years-old. I believe he'll do his best to get this title for Argentina. He is a great player but many people are not confident in him because he hasn't won important titles for his country yet. That's why Maradona is still considered the best player in Argentina, because he was a World Cup champion. Messi has this pressure and, although he's done great things for Barcelona, he's not repeated that feat for his country and won trophies with Argentina. That's why a title is so important for a country. (Video credit: Perform)”
