This one-legged Egyptian footballer is making headlines in Cairo

Egyptian amputee Mahmoud Abdou is enjoying his newly acquired celebrity status.The 28-year-old football fanatic became famous after a photo of his celebration of his country's qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup went viral. Abdou explained how his leg was amputated after a truck accident when he was only six.The law school graduate works as a freelance lawyer as well as a sales assistant in a shop to make ends meet. Despite all the difficulties- and the fact that he lives in Alexandria- the keen Al Ahly SCsupporter, follows the matches of his Cairo based team. Together with colleagues Abdou has now formed The Miracles- the only all-amputee football team in Egypt.One of Abdou's dream is to meet his idol Real Madrid C.F. Cristiano Ronaldo. Video: SNTV
