Air India's Director of Operations described the evacuation of over 600 Indians and 7 Maldivians from Coronavirus-hit Wuhan in the first week of February. Captain Amitabh Singh was the executive commander of the flight. He said that the emergency visit to Wuhan felt like a trip to another planet. He said that no other planes were functional at the airport and the streets and buildings in the Chinese city seemed empty. Singh said that no Air India employee refused to be a part of the important operation.
