Elderly Tamil Nadu couple fights robbers, gets bravery awards

An elderly couple fought robbers and got bravery awards in Tamil Nadu. Chief Minister K Palaniswami presented the special bravery award to the couple from Tirunelveli. The couple fought armed robbers with plastic chairs and slippers. One of the robbers with machete even tried to strangle the 70-year-old man. P Shanmugavelu and his wife Senthamarai got Rs 2 lakh in cash and gold medals. Their act of bravery was captured in a CCTV camera.
