Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan visited University of Madras on Wednesday to meet students agitating against amendments to the Citizenship law. However, he was denied entry into the premises. Subsequently, Haasan met a few students at the gate of the varsity. Speaking to the media later, the Makkal Needhi Maiam chief said that he was lending his face as a podium and his voice as a microphone to the protesting students. He had earlier voiced support for Jamia Millia Islamia students as well.
