Mahalaxmi Express with 700 passengers stranded near Mumbai, NDRF at spot

Mahalaxmi Express has been stranded near Mumbai with 700 passengers on board due to flooded tracks. The train has been held up between Badlapur and Wangni. Teams from the NDRF and even a Navy chopper have been deoloyed to help in the rescue operation. Heavy rainfall has thrown normal life out of gear in the Mumbai and nearby areas. According to the IMD Intermittent spells of heavy to very heavy showers are expected throughout the day.
