Sarkar Film Row: Director AR Murugadoss applies for anticipatory bail
‘Sarkar’ director AR Murugadoss moved the Madras High Court seeking anticipatory bail. The movie allegedly criticizes previous Tamil Nadu govt led by the late J Jayalalitha. AIADMK workers tore posters of the movie in Coimbatore, Madurai and Chennai. Protestors also vandalized theatres where the film was being screened. The film released on November 7 and has minted over Rs 100 crore within two days of release. The AIADMK has been protesting since the Diwali release of the movie with senior ministers demanding deletion of the objectionable scenes, besides threatening to initiate legal action if the film crew failed to comply.
