54th national film awards

Indian president Pratibha Devisingh Patil gave away the 54th national film awards at a star-studded event in New Delhi on September 02. Lage Raho Munnabhai bagged four awards at the function. The film also won for best screenplay and lyrics. The prestigious trophy for best feature film went to the Malayalam film Pulijanmam, directed by Priyanandanan.The film deals with the clash between idealism and worldly life.
