BJP leaders project Modi as their top leader

Ahead of its national executive meeting, the BJP became vocal in their support to project Gujarat chief minister, Narendra Modi as their top candidate for the 2014 general elections. Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, backed Modi for the prime minister's post and said that the Gujarat strongman was the most popular leader of the main opposition. Another BJP leader, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was all praise for Modi and said that party workers identify him as their top leader. However, senior CPI leader Atul Anjan said that the BJP doesn't have the numbers to form a government at the centre.
