Demand for autonomous Gorkhaland in WB

Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) Chief Bimal Gurung today threatened a 'militant' agitation after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee ruled out the creation of a separate Gorkhaland state. Gurung told reporters in Darjeeling that the GJM is fully prepared to face any consequences, if the situation worsened and there is a possibility of violence. Scores of GJM supporters raised slogans and disrupted a function addressed by Banerjee in the hill station of Darjeeling on Wednesday after she asserted that Darjeeling Hills would remain part of the West Bengal, in-between her speech.
