Flood situation worsens in north, locals troubled

Floods continued to affect several parts of northern states, distressing normal life, as water entered residential areas. In Firozpur district of Punjab, a rising water level has submerged the crops and has badly affected the normal life of the villagers. Increase in the water levels of the Satluj River has forced the people to flee homes in search of higher ground. Even the transport systems have been disrupted. Villagers have thus demanded support from the government.
