Apart from tickling taste buds of the tourists, the fruit processing industry in Dehradun is generating employment opportunities for the locals. The fruit processing units, which have come up in the area, have proved a boon for several farmers. They no longer have to worry for marketing of their produce as the fruit processing units buy it. From them value-added products such as jams, juices and pickles are made.
