Gas leak might have caused water to gush out: Gujarat Minister

A team of groundwater experts and Gujarat state officials accompanied by the state Minister of Water Resources visited Olpad village near Surat on Saturday. Olpad has been in the news over the past one-week ever since the locals experienced ceaseless gushing of water from the ground. After the inspection, briefing the mediapersons, Gujarat state's Water Resources Minister Nitin Patel said that a gas leak might have built up pressure on the groundwater level to gush out.
