Global recession takes toll on tourism industry

The ongoing global recession has started taking toll on the tourism industry in Agra, despite tourism season in full swing. There has been a marked decrease in foreigners visiting the eternal symbol of love, Taj Mahal this season. Tour operators in India have already reported a 20 to 30 per cent drop in number of tourists this year. Trading fraternity is also not very happy with the outcome of tourist season.
