Haryana Congress leader faces flak over rape remark

Haryana Congress leader Dharamvir Goyat's statement that 90% of rapes in the state were infact consensual drew sharp criticism from the political fraternity. BJP spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi condemned the comment and said that the Congress is playing with the emotions of the rape victims and it is not serious in dealing with such a sensitive issue. Samjawadi Party general secretary Mohan Singh said that no leader of Haryana could speak against the Khap panchayats and their diktats as it could affect their votebank.
