The rainy season has turned out to be a bane for the carpet weavers in Varanasi rather than being 'showers of blessing'. It is a known fact that the carpet industry does not flourish during the monsoon season. But carpet weavers and makers who incur losses to the tune of millions of rupees seem to be least interested in the logic. These carpets need lot of sunlight to be completed otherwise the moisture and dampness damage the colors and the texture.
